Would you like to earn PDUs by showing off your most effective and favorite PM tool or technique? You (and two other of your PMP colleagues) will have 10-12 minutes each to give a presentation or demonstration, with an additional three minutes allowed for Q&A. Three different presentations will be chosen randomly, to cover three different PMBOK Knowledge Area tools or techniques, a few of which are listed below:
Integration Management: expert judgment; PMIS system; change control
Scope Management: focus groups; expert judgment; decomposition; inspection; variance analysis
Time Management: rolling wave planning; precedence diagramming method; schedule networks; alternative judgment; parametric estimating; 3-point estimates; CPM, what-if scenarios; scheduling tools; resource leveling
Cost Management: bottom-up estimating; cost of quality; vendor bid analysis; historical relationships; funding limit reconciliation; EV, performance reviews; to-complete performance index
Quality Management: cost-benefit analysis; benchmarking; flow charting; cost of quality; quality audits; cause-and-effect diagrams; histograms; scatter diagrams; inspection
Human Resource Management: organizational theory; negotiations; acquisition; virtual teams; team building; recognitions and rewards; conflict management; issues log
Communications Management: stakeholder analysis; communication models; information distribution tools; management and interpersonal skills; variance analysis; reporting systems
Risk Management: planning meetings and analysis; checklist and assumption analysis; SWOT analysis; diagramming techniques; probability and impact assessment/matrix; risk categories; quantitative risk analysis and modeling; strategies for positive risk opportunities; contingent response; reserve analysis
Procurement Management: make-or-buy analysis; contract types; bidders conference; internet search; contract control system; performance reporting; payment systems; claims administration; negotiated settlements; records management system
